You will have more fun if you're riding within your abilities. To get the most enjoyment out of your active vacation, it is best that you select a tour based on your interest and ability. Most importantly, go at your own pace, relax, and have FUN!
We offer trips for the following abilities:
Beginner Level - Private Groups only
- New Cyclists
- Relaxed Pace (For those that want time for photo ops and gelato tasting)
- 20-35 Miles Per Day
- Fairly Flat and Rolling Terrain
- Anywhere from 3 to 6 hours of riding at your own pace.
- Riding is optional each day.
Athletic Beginner Level
- New Road Cyclists comfortable using SPD style pedals
- Steady Pace (For those that exercise regularly and have excellent endurance)
- 35-50 Miles Per Day
- Average of 2,000-4,000 feet of elevation gain per day
- About 4 to 6 hours riding at a steady pace
- Comfortable riding up and down steep hills
Intermediate Level
- Regularly Training Cyclists
- Thorough Pace (For those that train regularly and are in good physical condition)
- 40-65 Miles Per Day
- Rolling and Very Hilly Terrain
- About 4 to 6 hours riding at a steady pace.
- Average of 2,000-4,000 feet of elevation gain per day
Advanced Level
- Avid Cyclists
- Challenging Pace (experience with Club rides and pacelines)
- 40-75 Miles Per Day
- Very Hilly Terrain and Long Mountain Passes-clmbs can be up to 12 miles long.
- About 4 to 7 hours of riding depending how hard and long you ride.
- Up to 4,000-7,000 feet of elevation gain per day (options for more)
- Experienced riders who enjoy challenging climbs as much as exhilarating descents
- Optional mileage is always available, so feel free to ride as little or as long as you wish.
