“Nearly 8 months since my tour in the Pyrenees, and I still marvel at how amazing the trip was. The cycling was epic. The accommodations were excellent. And Lise and Gary provided local knowledge and history combined with strong cycling support. This was my first cycling tour, and it more than met my expectations. The locations were excellent, and every day we found ourselves experiencing local culture, cuisine, and the most breathtaking cycling routes. The free days were great opportunities for adventure and discovery (canyoneering! cycling into Spain!). I made many wonderful friends on this trip, and I look forward to more bike tours with ATG in the future. Hands down, this was the best trip I have ever taken!”
Diem Do, San Diego, CA
"Many thanks to Gary & Lise! My wife (a non-rider, but a casual bike racing fan) and I (an avid rider) were really looking forward to our first Tour de France ever. Gary and Lise of ATG took all the guesswork, planning and hauling of luggage off our hands for over a week of cycling bliss in thePyrénées. We felt well-cared for from start to finish. Our hotel room in Luchon was one that you would think was unattainable: Second floor, corner room with a balcony looking right over the race arrival road. Lots of great riding, racing and memories!"
Dan Goese, San Diego
"What makes Adventure Travel Group so special? Simply put, Gary and Lise. They took this South Carolinian, small town girl into France for a trip of a lifetime. They are a true mom and pop company that takes care of their clients as if you are family and allow you to enjoy the experience without all the worry about being in an unfamiliar country. They go out of their way to foster an environment of fellowship and fun from a daily yellow jersey winner to evening feasts at magnificent restaurants. With their vast experience in travel, you are able to see, taste, and participate in all those little extra hole-in-the-wall activities that only the locals may know about. My cultural palate has since grown tremendously, from the Alps to the vineyards, I'm truly ready to travel again with ATG. I am so thankful I did not go with a larger touring company because the finer details of culture and experience may not have been so appreciated. And, as a bonus, ATG will even help you reassemble and disassemble your bike with a smile. Now, that is quality!"
Kristen Weinacker, South Carolina
"I went to my first Tour de France with one of the largest tour operators. Although I liked the experience, I wanted to be a little more thoughtful in choosing a travel operator on my next trip to see the Tour. I selected ATG because they rated well across all my criteria, had the best route (it included the most well-known climbs in the Pyrenees) and provided more climbing opportunities. I selected ATG’s eight-day option. After climbing about 30,000 ft. and summiting 12 well-known peaks in the Pyrenees on this trip, I was very happy that my research paid off. With ATG, we stayed in very nice places, had great French cuisine every night and the hotels were close to great Tour viewing. We even got a series of autographs on multiple days of the tour. It was great, thanks to Gary and Lise!"
Tony Klaich, Chicago, IL
"Jolene (my wife) and I participated in the 2010 Tour de France trip offered thru Adventure Travel Group. Gary & Lise were very knowledgeable of the areas, the bike routes, the hotels as well as local "points of interest. Jolene and I ride at different levels and had no problem finding a group to ride with each day. When requested, Lise would suggest 'additional optional mileage' - those routes were very scenic and many times off the beaten path. Hotels were quaint, where the owners themselves or their staff took pride in hosting our group. The hotels were easy to find and always served a delicious breakfast for the riders. We are vegetarian so we let ATG know when we registered and we were never disappointed with our meal. Overall we had a very memorable European adventure with ATG and will be joining them again soon. "

Seeing the Tour de France with ATG was a memorable and exciting experience. We had excellent support, hotels, food and interests outside of cycling were always at the utmost. We seemed to always be at the right place at the right time to have a great viewing spot for the action and the routes were suitable and adjustable for most any experienced cyclist. I have made plans to make ATG my “go to” cycling tour company in the future.
Buzz Burnett, San Diego, CA
"I had been dreaming about a trip like this for a long time and had a very serious agenda in place. ATG helped me achieve all my goals and more. The TdF Pyrenees trip was an incredible adventure that left me wishing I could stay another two weeks, or longer. This was a small and very compatible group that worked and played together amazingly well. Lise and Gary were great hosts and the lodging, meals and overall experience was the best."
Al Hospers, North Conway, NH
"Steve and I would like to thank you for the fantastic trip in the Pyrenees for the TdF. It was a wonderful way to make our honeymoon remarkable and memorable. We truly appreciated the intimacy that ATG maintains, the choices you made when considering hotels and routes, and keeping the tours small. You gave us the opportunity to collect many special memories that I will treasure for a lifetime. Thank you for preparing and executing such a wonderful trip!
Kathleen Hauser, Carlisle, MA
"Our trip with Gary and Lise to the Tour de France was simply amazing. Every aspect of the trip, from the organization and planning, to the day-to-day ride support, to their great knowledge as tour guides was simply perfect. The trip far exceeded our wildest expectations and added up to the best vacation I've ever had. I recommend them every chance I get and plan to travel with them again in the future."
