Trip Highlights
  • Climb Mt. Grappa and enjoy local Prosecco wine.
  • Ride 10 of the best climbs in the Dolomites.
  • Watch stage 15: Queen mountaintop finish on Passo Fedia.
  • See stage 16: Individual mountain time trial—Plan de Corones.
On our Giro d' Italia bike tour you'll experience the excitement of the Giro d’Italia and challenge yourself on some of the Giro’s epic climbs—a perfect balance of watching the Giro and riding. You’ll watch two Giro stages—one mountain finish and an individual mountaintop time trial—and climb 10 of the classic Dolomite passes. Our small group size (14 riders max) allows us to stay in some of the most beautiful villages of Northern Italy.

Our small group size (14 riders max) allows us to stay in some of the most beautiful villages of Northern Italy. We carefully select quaint, welcoming hotels that are close enough to the route to allow us to ride to where we’ll watch the stage. There are no long waits in traffic or sitting in the van—we just hop on our bikes and find a good spot to watch. In many cases, the route passes close to our hotel, so it’s within walking distance. This is a trip of a lifetime!

Ride 10 of the best climbs in the Veneto and Dolomites
First, we’ll warm up cycling in the Veneto along quiet roads and rolling hills through vineyards of Proseco grapes. Then we ride into the Dolomites and tackle many of the Giro’s epic climbs including Pordoi, Campolongo, Gardena, Sella, Fedaia, Falzarego, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Giau and Plan De Corones.

See the Giro Action!

You’ll also get the full flavor of the Giro by participating in this grand party/cycling event. We make Giro viewing easy by carefully selecting  hotels located close to the route, so we’re able to ride to where we’ll watch the race. There’s no need for van transfers or sitting in traffic! We’ll get to see:

Airport Arrival/Departure City: Venice/Venice or Milan

Average Daily Mileage and Terrain
We’ll ride an average of 40 to 60 miles daily with 4,000 to 6,000 feet of climbing. As with all our tours, there are a wide variety of options to ride more or less each day. We also provide a variety of non-cycling options for guests who want to take a day off from riding or who are traveling with a non-riding companion.

Weather: May temperatures in the Dolomites can range 80 degrees and sunny, to 40 degrees and raining with possibility of snow on the high passes. Average temperatures are usually mild, but because we’re in the mountains, there can be extreme variations. Get more information about the weather in this area here.

What Our Guests Are Saying
"Lise and Gary did such a great job finding extraordinary places along the way. We stayed in so many unique, wonderful hotels and inns. It was apparent that they had spent a lot of time finding interesting and special routes that really exposed us not only to the essence of the sport of cycling in Italy, but also to the less traveled, cultural aspects that helped round out our European experience."
Ruth and Bob Wade, Aspen, CO

"I have had the pleasure of taking two cycling trips to Europe with The Adventure Travel Group and can't wait to take another! I could not imagine a better trip. Gary and Lise take care of every aspect of the trip with great attention to detail - the cycling route, food, accommodations and alternative activities are all planned to perfection. The end result is a trip that leaves me telling all my friends that trips with The Adventure Travel Group are the ultimate vacations."
Roanne Miller, Breckenridge, CO
