Chile & Argentina: Cycling Lakes and Volcanos Challenging Itinerary, Spectacular Scenery
Trip Highlights
• Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Andes and explore the “Switzerland of South America.” • Ride the world-famous Circuito Chico cycling route and see some of Argentina’s most beautiful scenery. • Visit five national parks and hike to Chile’s breathtaking Petrohue Falls. • Stay in three- and four-star hotels, many of which offer spa services.
This tour is designed for avid cyclists and offers the most challenging and extensive itinerary of the Lake and Volcano region of Chile and Argentina. The route traverses the unspoiled, lightly traveled countryside north of Patagonia. This area is dotted with sparkling lakes, picturesque coastal cities, ancient forests, snow-capped mountains and volcanos, waterfalls and thermal springs.
Our expert local guide, Ernesto Araneda Arangu, has been cycling for more than 15 years and holds first national Chilean champion ranking in both road and mountain biking. His cycling experience, coupled with a background in agricultural engineering and tourism, make him perfectly suited to introduce the flora, fauna and culture of the area. Ernesto was the first to develop road-cycling tours in Chile, so he’s well acquainted with the best riding routes, restaurants and attractions in this region.
In addition to fantastic riding, you’ll get acquainted with the local culture, wine and delicious food of the region. The cuisine is a delightful mix of Spanish, Italian and German influences, and you’ll have an opportunity to try the local favorites. All the delicious meals will keep you well-fueled for some unforgettable riding!

The camaraderie and laughs among the group was a plus and every care and concern was attended to. I would definitely do a repeat with Adventure Travel Group.” Maria Nasif, Tucson, AZ
